Join Stan Novotny on an adventure like no other as we cruise the Salish Sea in search of wildlife.
If you’ve dreamed of capturing bald eagles feasting, and you’re up for the challenge of fast-paced, dynamic photography, this workshop is for you.
Over three immersive days, we’ll witness eagles soaring, fishing, and interacting in their natural habitat.
From May through July, hake migrate through the narrow passages of the Discovery Islands. Along their route, powerful tidal currents force the fish rapidly toward the surface.
This sudden ascent causes their swim bladders to expand, leaving them floating and vulnerable.
Bald eagles know this event well.
They congregate in these areas, timing their presence with the tides, taking full advantage of the hake’s demise.
It’s a striking reminder of how powerful nature is, and how deeply tides influence wildlife behavior.
Eagles won’t be the only highlight.
Throughout the workshop, we’ll also be on the lookout for bears, marine mammals, and the raw, untamed beauty that coastal British Columbia has to offer.
This is wildlife photography at its most exciting, fast, unpredictable, and unforgettable.
